We are seeking candidates for a full-time Middle School & Upper School Performing Arts Associate Teacher to join our community beginning August 2024. This is a 10-month position with an excellent array of benefits and a competitive salary.

We are seeking candidates who…

  • Have a bachelor’s degree in music, musical theater, or a related field.
  • Have teaching experience and demonstrate eagerness to work with middle school and upper school students.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to student-centered learning.
  • Have significant experience participating in or teaching choral ensembles and/or in musical theatre.
  • Possess the cultural competency necessary for working with a diverse population in an equitable and inclusive community.
  • Demonstrate a collaborative and growth mindset as a teacher and professional.
  • Communicate well, both in writing and verbally, with colleagues, students, and families.
  • Model a culture of flexible, continuous learning to challenge and support students appropriately.

Core Job Responsibilities

This role is a full-time position with the following major responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Middle School and Upper School Choir Assistant.
  • Serve as the Assistant for Upper School Belfry productions.
  • Assist the Performing Arts Department by:
    • Maintaining a master calendar of performing arts events and rehearsals
    • Designing, creating, and printing programs from Middle & Upper School string, band, and choir concerts.
    • Assisting with scheduled room transitions between classes and assisting with stage transitions between rehearsals.
    • Serving as Front-of-House for Middle and Upper School performing arts events.
  • Other responsibilities, including assisting with class and study hall coverages, attending regular faculty meetings, professional learning communities, in-service days, and other supervision duties as assigned.
